The Last Wish

This book has more emotional depth, and maturity than most in this genre. It ties in a lot of children's stories, Snow White, etc, and provides an adult perspective on them. Stimulating and engrossing. Like Lord of the Rings, it has a dark edge, set in a time where the old world is fast disappearing. One of the best books I have read in a long time.

Geralt de Rivia is a witcher. A cunning sorcerer. A merciless assassin. And a cold-blooded killer. His sole purpose: to destroy the monsters that plague the world. But not everything monstrous-looking is evil and not everything fair is good . . . and in every fairy tale there is a grain of truth.

  8. This looks interesting actually. Gonna check it out on Amazon, maybe see if Barnes and Noble has it... I haven't read a book in a long while and this sounds pretty good. Looking at the cover, I thought it was an expansion of The Witcher lol.
